A Guide to Eleiko Powerlifting Bars
Which Eleiko powerlifting bar is right for you? Explore IPF and WPPO-certified competition and training bars, all engineered for strength, stiffness, and grip under max loads.
Powerlifting demands control, stiffness, and precision. Whether you're preparing for the platform or building strength in training, the bar you choose makes a difference. Eleiko’s powerlifting bars are crafted in Sweden and engineered for maximum grip and stability under the heaviest loads. This guide walks through our certified IPF and WPPO-competition and training bars — helping you choose the right bar for your lifting goals.
Designed for Precision and Control
Eleiko powerlifting bars are built for the most exacting lifts: squat, bench press and deadlift. The IPF bars feature a 29 mm shaft diameter — the standard for stiffness and reduced whip while the WPPO Competition Bar uses a 28 mm shaft to match para powerlifting standards.
Given the type of lifts and heavy loads, grip is a priority across the range. Our 1.5 Power knurling is sharp, deep, and consistent — providing maximum contact and a secure hold. For the IPF bars, a center knurl supports bar placement in squats, and 81 cm IPF grip markings keep you competition ready.
Rotation is controlled through graphite-infused bronze bushings — designed to stabilise the bar, avoiding excess sleeve rotation during heavy attempts. Each bar is sealed with our dual lock system, dustproof components and stainless steel end caps to extend performance over time.
IPF Powerlifting Competition Bar
Trusted by elite lifters and used on competition platforms around the world, the IPF Powerlifting Competition Bar is built to meet the most demanding lifting standards. Crafted in Sweden from Eleiko Steel with a 236,000 PSI tensile strength, the 29 mm shaft stays rigid under max loads, minimising flex for full control during squats, bench presses, and deadlifts. The bare steel finish delivers raw grip feel, while the sharp 1.5 Power knurling locks your hands in place — especially vital in heavy pulls.
Eleiko’s Optimal Rotation System™, powered by self-lubricating graphite-infused bronze bushings, provides stable, controlled sleeve rotation specifically tuned for powerlifting. A narrow 12 mm flange profile allows plates to sit closer to the center of gravity, improving balance and reducing whip during heavy lifts. Finished with gold-accented end caps, this bar is IPF-certified and ready for the platform.
