Burnley College is equipped with a new state-of-the-art functional performance gym at Fitness Evolution.

The future of Sport and Fitness education and training in Lancashire has been transformed with the launch of a brand new £6.5 million development at Burnley College. As part of the Evolution Spa & Performance Centre development, Eleiko were selected as Burnley College’s trusted, strength equipment partner for the new, state-of-the-art functional performance gym at Fitness Evolution.

The new facility, that will be used by Burnley College’s Elite Athletes, as well as visiting professional athletes and sports teams, and students on Sport and Fitness courses, will have access to the very latest, cutting-edge facilities and equipment.

The new, high-performance gym is equipped with four XF80 Power Racks complete with integrated platforms, IWF Training Plates, and Performance Weightlifting Barbells to deliver space efficient, versatile strength training options for athletes and coaches. A full set of Evo Dumbbells ranging from 12kg-50kg and a Seal Row Bench, providing a host of training capabilities. The design and flow of the space were carefully considered to achieve a first-class, athlete training experience, with the incorporation of additional spaces for members to carry out varied types of training. Smart storage solutions finish the space to ensure freedom of movement throughout the gym, whilst reserving maximal floor space for coaches and athletes.

— Ashley AldersonFitness Evolution Manager

Working with Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach, Nathan Norris, to complete the gym, he comments “As a college excellence is a key fundamental value within our ethos and culture. When it came to choosing the equipment for our High-Performance Gym both myself and the Senior Management Team were keen that the companies we were to work with, and the products chosen, reflected this value. The quality of the products provided, along with the high standard of customer service have been excellent from start to finish. For me I wanted to make sure the equipment would not only look the part but stand the test of time and usage. The robustness of the equipment along with the quality of the finish are to the standard we expect here at Burnley College.”

Further to the high-performance gym, the Evolution Spa & Performance Centre welcomes a new Cryotherapy suite, Environmental chamber, Hydrotherapy suite, treatment centre and dance studio.

Fitness Evolution Manager Ashley Alderson says that the facility will put Burnley College learners’ way ahead when it comes to a career in the Sport and Fitness industry and offers unrivalled resources for athletes competing at the very top of their sport.
