Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games
Eleiko supplies custom branded solutions for Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
An 11-day celebration of sport and culture, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, were one of the largest multi-sport events held in the UK in the past ten years and the biggest event ever to be held in Birmingham and the West Midlands region.
Birmingham 2022 delivered one of the largest sports programmes in Commonwealth Games history, with a total of 19 sports included. It will also feature the biggest ever para-sports programme, with eight sports completely integrated into the main sports programme. Four thousand five hundred athletes representing 72 nations and territories participated.
As the official equipment provider for Birmingham 2022, Eleiko supplied the full range of equipment for the weightlifting and para powerlifting competition, as well as logistics support for the installation and event tear down and supervision during the event.
The range includes a custom-designed competition set-up featuring our newly redesigned IWF Competition Plates and a complete warm-up and training hall for athletes. For the weightlifting competition this included custom branded competition station, 13 warm up stations, and 30 training stations to ensure athletes had the optimal competition environment.
For the Para Powerlifting Competition, Eleiko provided a custom branded solution that included one competition station and 12 warm up/training stations.
All equipment will be repurposed after the Games to support sport and athlete development through its use by British Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting training facilities.
