Eleiko Equips the 2025 IWF World Championships in Førde, Norway.
As the official equipment provider for the 2025 IWF World Weightlifting Championships, Eleiko worked with the Norwegian Weightlifting Federation to deliver a custom branded competition setup for the event in Førde, Norway, from October 2 to 11, 2025. The setup included the competition stage, 15 warm-up stations, and 50 training stations — supporting athletes at every stage of competition with world-class equipment.
This year’s Worlds marked the competition debut of Eleiko’s new barbells. Engineered with refined sleeve geometry, tighter tolerances, and performance-focused finishes, these barbells made their first appearance on the world stage in Førde — and over the 10-day competition, an incredible 40 world records were set on the bars.
“Eleiko’s commitment to quality extends beyond their products — it’s reflected in their people. The custom equipment provided ensures athletes have the best possible platform for competition. Choosing Eleiko was a natural decision for me as I’ve collaborated with them at five Superheavyweight tournaments, and they were also our partner for the 2016 European Championships. Having invested in large numbers of weightlifting equipment over the years, I’ve always placed great importance on long-term quality. For me, Eleiko stands as the number one in both quality and sustainability.”
Despite being a small community town, Førde brought a remarkable spirit to the prestigious event. Several sessions drew full houses of 1,800 spectators, many of them families with young children experiencing a weightlifting competition for the first time. “We may be the smallest hosts, but we have the biggest heart,” added Stian Grimseth. In total, more than 1,000 people descended with their weightlifting teams, making Førde the smallest town ever to host the World Championships.
At the competition, Eleiko partnered with technology partner Enode to showcase our new sensor-ready barbells, running real-time demonstrations at the booth. The integrated smart technology of the Eleiko Bar Sensor Kit gives lifters and coaches access to instant performance data, bringing a new dimension to the lifting experience.
Eleiko’s contribution to the 2025 IWF World Championships goes beyond the equipment we produce — it embodies our ongoing dedication to the sport of weightlifting and to the athletes who inspire it. Built on six decades of expertise, our purpose-built, IWF-certified competition equipment is designed to help athletes perform at their best, whether on the world stage or in training halls across the globe.
