2021 World Classic Powerlifting Championships
IPF World Classic Championships at Eleiko HQ in Halmstad officially opened.
On September 23rd, the 2021 World Classic Powerlifting Championships were officially opened at Eleiko HQ in Halmstad, Sweden. As a proud partner to the IPF, Eleiko is pleased to welcome athletes and federations from around the world to our headquarters.
The IPF 2021 World Classic Championships is the biggest annual event on the IPF calendar. Over 700 athletes are participating in the competition with 51 countries represented. Eleiko's Halmstad headquarters serves as the venue for the Championships, taking advantage of the full sports center and event hosting capabilities included in the headquarters design. Eleiko has provided the equipment and set up the event in compliance with all safety measures and COVID protocols to ensure a safe event for athletes.
"We are happy to support the IPF and give lifters the opportunity to return to competition on the international circuit after this long hiatus from live competition,” said Erik Blomberg, Eleiko CEO. “We will give our very best to provide the finest conditions for all teams. We are excited to host a world-class event for the athletes and be part of creating a safe and memorable experience for everybody attending the World Championships here in Halmstad.”
This will be the second time Halmstad will host the IPF for a World Championships, following the 2018 Open Powerlifting Championships.
