Eleiko debuted a new IWF certified Weightlifting Competition Collection at the 2017 World Weightlifting Championships supplying an impressive 60 sets for the competition, warm-up, and training halls. The event and equipment were a huge success. Athletes from around the world, enthusiastic crowds, and record-setting lifts highlighted why weightlifting continues to garner interest and draw new participation in the sport.

The 2017 IWF World Weightlifting Championships were held in Anaheim, CA November 28 through December 5 of 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Eleiko installed 60 setups for the competition which included one complete competition set, 14 warm-up sets and 45 training sets. All the equipment was part of our new IWF competition collection which debuted at the event. The collection featured a modern aesthetic and numerous design enhancements to boost performance and durability. The event also marked the first time Eleiko NxG bars were used in a world championship competition. Eleiko worked closely with the organizing committee to create a customer hub design in celebration of the World Championships as well.

Eleiko had a full team on-site in Anaheim during the competition to handle the installations and teardown with our distinct expertise and high level of customer service. With 60 years in weightlifting and 43 Weightlifting Championships under our belts, Eleiko is unmatched in its weightlifting knowledge and experience with these types of events.

The championships saw some new World Records set. Harrison Maurus set a new Youth World Record in the clean & jerk with an impressive 193kg lift earning him a bronze medal, as well as a second bronze medal for his 348kg total which also set a new Youth, Junior and Senior American records. Lasha Talakhadze (+105kg) of Georgia set a new World Records in the snatch and total with a 220kg snatch and 477kg total.

In addition to supplying equipment for the competition, Eleiko contributed to the great atmosphere with our booth in the vendor hall. It included a retail store featuring our new weightlifting apparel collection, STRENGTHWEAR® by Eleiko, as well as two additional weightlifting platforms creating an interactive experience for event attendees. Athletes, volunteers, and spectators alike were able to test and train on the new Eleiko equipment and gain firsthand experience lifting with the world’s finest weightlifting equipment. Lucky lifters were even treated to coaching tips from Gold Medalist Mohamed Ehab Youssef who stopped by the booth to spend time with those lifting.
