Each lifting situation presents different requirements reflected in our plate designs and performance. From the design to the materials, each plate is developed to support the best performance outcomes for varied types of lifting and environments. Below, we explore Eleiko Plates designed for different types of lifting.

Weightlifting

Weightlifting is focused on developing high speed and maximal power. The primary lifts are the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk, where the lifts are dropped onto a platform when the lift is complete. Plates needs to be constructed so they absorb the shock of the drop, without uncontrolled bouncing. Eleiko offers a range of plates for varied lifting environments. The plates are distinguished in their design, construction, certification, and calibration.

For lifters who don't require certifications and competition-level calibration and focused on general strength training including both weightlifting and powerlifting lifts on platforms and in racks, the Eleiko Sport Training Plates are an ideal option. They are offered in coloured and black versions, in both kg and lb variants ranging from 10 – 25 kg and 25 – 55 lb.

Powerlifting

Powerlifting focuses on maximal strength, typically at slower speeds than explosive Olympic lifts. The emphasis is on three primary lifts: bench press, squat, and deadlift. These lifts can be very heavy and are typically lowered under control, so plates are crafted from iron and feature a slim profile so more weight can be loaded onto the bar.

Eleiko Powerlifting Competition Plates are certified by the IPF and calibrated beyond IPF requirements so athletes can be certain they are training and competing with precise weights. The competition plates chamfered edge, grove on the back improve handling, loading, and unloading with a new powder coat finish to ensure longer lasting performance.

Hybrid general strength training plates (XF and Grip Plates)

Eleiko XF Bumpers and Eleiko Grip Plates are designed to be multipurpose supporting variety of strength exercises. The XF Bumpers are made in Halmstad Sweden from EU grade recycled rubber using recycled car tires with a stainless steel hub. XF Bumpers are suited for being dropped, the thicker profile and crumb rubber construction helps with sound mitigation and can be used for outdoor training.

The Grip Plates are an ideal option when lifting in Eleiko Benches and feature grip holes for easier handling. While crafted from a rubber coated iron, the new Eleiko Grip Plates are unique in that they are designed to be suitable for low level drops when performing deadlifts.

Change and fractional plates

Eleiko makes change and fractional plates to coordinate with plates in each of our ranges – weightlifting, powerlifting and general strength training. Construction and calibration vary depending on the intended use and the certifications, but in general Eleiko Change Plates are used to make small increments in weight, allowing athletes to make precise adjustments to their lifts. Eleiko Change Plates are available in various weights ranging from 0.5 kg to 5 kg and 2.5 to 10 lb, making them suitable for all levels of lifters.
