BRF Viva is much more than a housing association; it is an excellent example of the future of sustainable housing development.
With 132 apartments completed in 2019, this housing association has taken a bold step towards a greener, more community-oriented, and innovative future. For BRF Viva, investing in a gym for their residents was a natural choice. This decision aims not only to promote a healthier lifestyle for its current and future members.
"BRF Viva has redefined the possibilities of how properties can contribute to increased sustainability with a focus on people. By providing a dedicated space for physical activity, they create even more opportunities for residents to prioritize their physical, mental, and social well-being. It has also been exciting to incorporate recycling in this project, a crucial step towards making properties even more sustainable," says P-O Osbeck, Sales - Corporate Health & Residential, Eleiko.
A Flexible and Versatile Training Area
The space is over 50 square meters and includes a variety of equipment. It features a rig with barbells, weight plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, and cable machines, as well as cardio machines such as a rowing machine, treadmill, and spinning bike. For functional training, yoga, rehab, and stretching, a range of equipment and tools is also available. There's room to explore, exercise, and thrive together with neighbors who share the same interest in health and well-being.
In the BRF Viva project, the focus has been on creating a versatile fitness facility that caters to various needs and preferences. BRF Viva has invested in a solid basic setup, enabling the creation of an efficient and functional training area tailored to a broad audience. The underlying idea has been to offer a training environment resembling commercial gyms, where diversity and training efficiency take center stage, but also a space that can adapt and evolve over time. To be prepared for future changes and shifting preferences of members, BRF Viva designed the gym with scalability and flexibility in mind. This means they can easily replace or supplement their equipment as needed.
Sustainability, Innovation, and Community
"Our collaboration with Eleiko has been very rewarding. They haven't just been our supplier but a partner actively working with us to find optimal and cost-effective solutions. Sharing the same values regarding sustainability and innovation has made the collaboration meaningful, and we have been working towards the same goal from the start. The collaboration has been more than a business transaction; it's more like a joint project. Our focus on sustainability and community has created an amazing space for exercise, socializing, and well-being, and we look forward to seeing how the gym will be a valuable asset for our members. The goal was also to build our gym with as much reused equipment as possible, something Eleiko could offer to a greater extent. For example, the rig consists of approximately 65% recycled parts, clearly reflecting our shared commitment to being more sustainable and resource-efficient. The partnership has allowed us to create a fitness facility that is not only functional but also economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable, something we are very proud of," concludes Oskar.
