As a step to bring physical activity to more arenas and help make people stronger for better performance in sports and life, Eleiko leans on its 60 years of experience within strength training and bespoke gym design to bring the ultimate lifting experience to workplaces globally.

“The wellness culture has moved into our workplaces and draws inspiration from the tech companies in Silicon Valley, where health and well-being have long been in focus. Focusing on health at the workplace strengthens companies, both as a team and financially,” explains P-O Osbeck, who leads Corporate and Residential Sales at Eleiko.

Training opportunities at work desired by employees

Opportunities for training in the workplace are often at the top of the list on employee surveys for what they value most. A report from one of the largest listed real estate companies in Sweden from 2021 shows that 43% of all employees want access to a gym on the company's premises to support their well-being and performance. Another report showed that as many as 56% feel that when planning workplaces, a focus on health and well-being is the most important quality they are looking for.

Studies also show a link between price development in companies with a high score on the “health index scale” with S & P's 500 index. Companies with a high score on the "health index" had an increase in share value of 235% compared to S & P's 500 index, which had 159% over the same 6-year period.

Focus on health strengthens productivity and community

“A company gym makes you more attractive as an employer, strengthens your employer branding and the effect of people who are prosperous can do a lot for productivity. For companies, it is about providing opportunities to optimize their most important resource - the health of their employees - and human sustainability,” says P-O Osbeck.

Benefits of focusing on wellness as an organization include:

  • Healthier, happier employees: Exercise is shown to reduce stress, combat fatigue, improve performance and lead to fewer workday absences.
  • Increased productivity: Physical activity improves attention span, accuracy and memory, resulting in increased productivity at work.
  • Improves work-life balance: Offering employees a place to train at work will lower the barrier to physical activity and improve work-life balance.
  • Attract and retain talent: You are what you attract! Health and wellness initiatives highly rank every year when professionals are asked what benefits are most important to them.
  • Strengthens employer-branding: Wellness is essential to the modern workplace, and people look for companies with shared values. Investing in health will strengthen your company’s employer branding.

“A training space is an essential part of the modern workplace, and we offer solutions for both smaller and larger-scale projects. A tip is to integrate the training space and create a social arena where your employees can be involved in the planning of the gym. Today's workplaces often have very nice conference rooms, for example - why not integrate the company gym so that training becomes a natural part of your workplace?" says P-O.
